I never thought she was ugly, but...

...look how gorgeous she is looking these days!

(If only I hadn't cut her ear off in the picture... oops!)

Faith's face has mostly shed out, and she is... beautiful! The countless bald spots that riddled the majority of her body are now beginning to grow in. And the hair that is coming in, well it's the shiniest, most unique deep copper color I've ever seen! Hopefully a few weeks from now the rest of her body will match, as well as the halter mark on her nose.

Her summer coat is beginning to grow, her eyes are looking brighter with each passing day, and her attitude is getting, well... grouchier and more demanding! But it all means one awesome thing - she is getting healthier!

Just as a reminder, this is how she looked on Day #1:

I always knew you were a fighter, Faith!

  1. Wow, her head doesn't look too big for her body any more! Yay Faith!

Good luck with the grouchy attitude. :-)

  4. I love the sparkle in her eye and her general demeanor.
There is a cheaper way to determine if she has ulcers or not. Give her Ranitidine (I am sure my spelling is off) and see what happens. It is far cheaper then GastroGuard (w/a prescription from your vet, you can get it at Costco Pharmacy) and works well. With supervision from my vet, I've done this twice now with two horses. The med helped them both.

  7. Hi Julie! I was at GWS last night to meet your pony, but I also had the pleasure of meeting Faith! I also read your blog from first post to last, and I commend you for what you have done! Faith is a remarkable spirit, and you have done wonders for her! As an aside, we are thinking of hosting some "fun" horse shows at the farm I board, and maybe we could have a "Faith Benefit" class or something! I'll contact you when the time gets closer!

PS- Brad is my farrier too- isn't he the BEST??

  8. She is lovely! She looks fantastic, but I really think you need to address her Suspensory Ligament issue. I sent you an email. I'm really worried because as she gains weight you will find she has more trouble with them.

You're doing a great job with her! Bless you!

  10. Oh WOW!!

The major difference is in her eye, it is so soft now. Soft & relaxed.

What a wonderful turn around. What a wonderful horse.

    You are a wonderful person!

  11. She looks fabulous. You have done an amazing job. I really enjoy reading your posts and check in eagerly every few days to see how things are going. I also enjoy your wry sense of humor about it all. It looks like your barn is a fun and special place to be...keep up the good fight
